As you prepare to embark on a life-changing journey, you are probably thinking about choosing a major, living on campus and making new friends.
As a parent or international student, you also have other things on your mind. This section will address some common items of interest for parents and international students. And don't hesitate to contact us at the Office of Admission with any questions or needs you may have.
Rest assured that Education City is well staffed around the clock. 24-hour security is in place in all of the buildings and around the perimeter of campus throughout the school year.
Student Housing and Shuttle Service

It’s easy to get into and out of Education City via a daily shuttle service from Education City to various destinations around Doha.
Students can enjoy excellent recreation facilities on-campus. The Student Center has bowling alleys, an arcade, pool and foosball tables, a basketball court, gyms for men and women, and a cinema! Our recreation center also has a multipurpose court, squash courts, tennis courts, gyms and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. All facilities are free for students to use.
Education City offers all the necessities students need, including an ATM machine, courier service, travel agency, pharmacy, Qatar National Bank office, restaurants, and Ooredoo (Qatar's predominant telecommunications company) branch.
On-campus residence halls are equipped with kitchen facilities for our students’ convenience. For Education City residents, daily meals are served in on-campus cafeterias and are available for an extra fee. The Carnegie Mellon building also includes a pizza oven, pasta station, and a cafe serving hot and cold meals. Students can also find international food at the HBKU Student Center.
