Health & Wellness
The office of Health and Wellness encourages and supports the physical health and well being of our students by providing health education, wellness services and liaison with health care resources within the larger Qatar community. The office empowers students to succeed in life by facilitating the acquisition of information, skills and attitudes that positively impact academic success and other life goals.
The Office of Health and Wellness sponsors and presents programs and activities throughout the academic year. The office works with the student population on individualized health programs that encourage them to engage in new behavior, healthful habits and lifestyle changes.
The Office of Health and Wellness maintains high levels of communication and cooperation with external collaborators such as Hamad Hospital and National Health Authority. It also fosters inclusion of and connection with all students through various activities to reflect a wholesome, overall college experience.
To provide an environment whereby students understand that health and wellness is “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmary” (WHO)
Carnegie Mellon University, Qatar is committed to the concept of wellness. As a result a holistic approach is followed based on the wellness model that incorporates seven distinct areas that consist of social, spiritual, emotional, environmental, occupational, intellectual and physical wellness.
